You can access all Google services with one your gmail account, now a days mostly hackers hack email accounts by key logger, Trojan etc, to secure your all other accounts / emails, you have to install antivirus + anti key-logger etc,

Two-step verification adds an extra layer or step of protection to your account. Whenever you sign in to the Google website or link a new device or sign in from a new device , you’ll need to enter both your password and also a security code sent to your mobile phone.
In addition to your username and password, you'll enter a code that Google will send you via text, voice call, or our mobile app.
1. Enter your password: Whenever you sign into Google you’ll enter your username and password as usual.
2. Enter Code from Phone: Next, you’ll be asked for a code that will be sent to you via text, voice call, or our mobile app.
3. That’s it you are signed: Now your account has additional protection against hijackers.
Simply password is step 1 for login and verification code is step 2 for log in to account.
How to Enable 2 Step Verification for Google Accounts.
Step 1 : Go to Google and login to your account then go to Account Setting > Security or direct go for security page click here and there you can see the 2 step verification option for make changes first time click on Edit.
Step 2: On the Next Page you will see look like this clicking on start setup.
Step 3: Once you stared setup you will see a page where you will verify your mobile phone. choose your country code then enter the mobile number any mobile number where you can receive Sms Text message or call. Once phone number added click on send code.

Step 4: They will send you a unique code number on your mobile phone enter that code into the Google page and press verify.

Step 5: Once your mobile number get verified choose trusted computer where you are using the Google account choose this is trusted PC or Computer and continue to next step.
Last Step 6: You will see a enable button next page press enable 2 step verification system
